"START LEARNING ENGLISH"

Explanation: The newly formed USA, at first, co-existed with Native American polities - if not entirely peacefully, at least not with the unrelenting hostility that would characterize later relations.

By ~1810, however, a paltry ~25 years after the birth of the country, American greed for land and resources had grown by an immense degree, spurred on in part by declining soil fertility from overfarming in the USA and increased profitability of cash crops. Likely as a result of this, American racism, always present, grew to a considerable degree in this period as well. By 1830, even ‘assimilating’ into Anglo-American culture was not enough to save tribes in the east from ethnic cleansing and genocide. The USA just continued to grow and grow, at the expense of the Native Americans who already lived in the ‘unclaimed’ land White America wanted.

Despite the increased disdain of White Americans for Native Americans throughout the 19th century, linguistic repression also intensified. Not important enough to be ‘an American’, but important enough to wipe our their languages, it would seem. ‘Boarding schools’ for Native American children often included mandatory attendance and, not simply learning the English language, but being beaten and punished for even speaking their native tongue. Though the late 19th century was the height of this cultural genocide madness, the boarding schools continued, in varying-but-always-considerable degree of cruelty and brutality, for most of the 20th century as well.
