… none of this meme discusses the division of Ukraine before WW1; in WW2, the major polities which divided up Poland were the Soviet Union (which included the Ukrainian SSR) and Nazi Germany (which had annexed Austria). I believe a couple of fascist hangers-on like Romania took a bite out of Poland, but Austria was not an independent nation that could have participated. The Ukrainian SSR certainly existed at this time.
None of the crimes of Ukrainian forces are discussed here - the only thing the Russian embassy is saying is that when the Red Army invaded and annexed parts of Poland during WW2 in tandem with the Nazis, they only did so to ‘reclaim’ what was ‘rightful’ Belarusian and Ukrainian land (as the Ukrainian and Belarusian SSRs were part of the USSR) from Poland, which had supposedly ‘stolen’ it, making their intervention justified.
This is, of course, nothing but lunacy from the Russian embassy to justify the joint Soviet-Nazi invasion of Poland.
