Pointless aristocrats of yesteryear look as pointless as aristocrats of today.

Also, aristocrats in name only, since 1918. They may have had hereditary wealth, but their legal status was no different from any other citizen.

One’s legality/ease in navigating the legal system can be extremely-heavily influenced by hereditary wealth, just sayin’

Is that a plastic cup?

I was thinking it was frosted glass

Looks like paper or frosted glass to my eye. I’ve seen this image before, nut im afraid I don’t remember how long ago, so it could be ai or modified.

This is too “children drinking and smoking” for all the models that look this good to produce.

I was similarly perplexed, it sure looks like it. I was thinking the photo is AI because of that.

For context: that kind of plastic did not exist in 1955

Looks that the colorized was added.

Here is an article from 2011 with a black and white original of the photo.

Sure is. It was frowned upon to throw glass into the water when you were done using your cup.

Yeah just throw plastic instead…

Hooookay, wow. And I see she was already betrothed at that age, by the ring on her finger. Or maybe I’m reading into it.
