Today I noticed that a video file that was reduced to a minimum with the help of ffmpeg had grown to over ten times the size of the uploaded file when downloaded by another user. So my question to you @staff@mastodon.social :

My other user - @EvilCartyen@feddit.dk - is the only mod of the community !procycling@lemmy.world.

Apologies if this question doesn't go here, but I wasn't sure where else to ask. I was curious if anyone was working on something a la Reddit Enhancement Suite. I use old reddit partially because RES is such a great tool, and I'd love to see something similar for Lemmy. In particular, I like being able to tag users.

It has become apparent that @rodneyck@lemmy.world has been manipulating votes by voting with multiple accounts on other instances.

Here's a question about lemmy.world: Does it send a referrer, when you open a link there?

Hi, I need to find out who the founder of the c/politics community is, since I had a post removed from there and the ModLog doesn't say who did it and there was no reason given to act on. It looks like abuse of the mod bot that may need to be removed.

See title. The modlog has one entry in it, which was an admin -- not the solo mod -- removing spam 4 months ago.

I've mostly been a .world user, but have this alt account on .ca as a backup. I logged into it to make sure I didn't have anything in my inbox, and noticed that everything loads so much faster. In both cases I'm using the browser interface from my tablet, sorting by all. On .world, there's a pause before the text comes up, then the thumbnails and graphics slowly populate. On .ca, it all pretty much loads instantly.

I want to see new comments posted in all communities but the list of new comments isn't changing? It's showing new comments posted 7 days ago.

With the news that lemm.ee is shutting down, I'm trying to add my new account as a mod to the communities I mod.

There is one user from another instance that I have Blocked, but their comments still show up in posts. I have tried unblocking and blocking them again, and their posts are hidden on their profile when blocked. Examples below are seeing their comment, clicking on their name, and seeing that they are already blocked. This is the only user where this is the case, and I've blocked their name and instance (not lemmy.world) but can provide it on request.

On conservatives@hilariouschaos, they shared a Babylon bee meme saying marines were invading a 3rd world country meaning California I pointed out that Californias existence allows their racist red states to exist. Despite me being "upvoted" with citations that were asked for, and them being negative, my posts were deleted. I wasn't aware that hilariouschaos was as bad as .ml or worse.

The sidebar should be behind a link or tab.

Coming from lemm.ee which is about to shut down. I run the pretty successful television community on there. I see the community on here is abandoned in favour of it. Well lets go full-circle.

After much lurking, it's been brought to my attention that the Fediverse has gained a reputation for banning individuals who express support for Elon Musk’s rhetoric or who are affiliated with groups like KF. I speak from personal experience, having witnessed a particular individual (though I won’t name names, but I’m sure you can guess who) being banned from multiple instances simply because she was a KF user. She was diligent in adhering to each instance’s rules, ensuring that her actions were in strict compliance with the guidelines. This wasn’t a case of coincidence or an isolated incident, she took great care to follow the rules. Yet, despite her efforts, she was banned multiple times.

The community currently has no mod and has previously attracted concerning content.

Every now and then, Lemmy World sends me an automated DM saying there are unresolved reports in the moderator inbox for the communities I moderate. Every single time, the moderator inbox has not only not shown any indication that it has something in it, it hasn't actually had anything in it.

Since uh, there doesn't appear to be a mod there, and there's a junk post.

Ever since I noticed a major lag on received items between my personal server and Lemmy.world, I've been keeping an eye on the Grafana federation health overview. Problem is, it's currently stuck in displaying no progress whatsoever since at least May 13 at 17:00 UTC. The problem is not only with my specific instance, but rather with literally all of them (as far as I've tested) - is there being progress in the background anyways, or is there an issue with the backend too? The status page has shown sporadic but self-repairing errors for the last few days, and I'm not sure if it's related anyhow.

Mod is active on lemmy, however community has been inactive for quite some time. I did post on there a while back, but all content in the community seems to have been deleted since. Hello - Please take a look at @TheTechnician27@lemmy.world . They have downvoted every single post in 3 communities (over 200 posts) in a very narrow window of time. They either automated their voting, or they are very focused

The community also suffers from bot spam and AI generated posts.

Someone made a post that is at least irrelevant to !keepwriting@lemmy.world and is asking people to pay money for their ebook, which would be considered unsolicited advertising, i.e. spam.

Hello friends, I'd like to take over as the mod for !masseffect@lemmy.world since the current mod seems to be inactive - there have been no comments, posts, or mod actions in two years from the current mod, @ChampagneEquinox@lemmy.world.

I used to upload images just fine when creating posts, but now I get an infinite loading spinner. Any help would be appreciated! - I'm using the website. - I tried it on LibreWolf (where it previously worked), Firefox, and Ungoogled Chromium. Same results on all three. - I tried using my phone's mobile data hotspot in case my home network was the issue. No change.

Just noticed this a week or so ago. When I try to scroll the feed on lemmy.world, my page will halt and go even though I'm scrolling consistently on my trackpad. No other website has this problem to my knowledge.

Hi! I was wondering if there is a limit of communities I can create, I have created 3, wanted to create want more but I am unable to do so. And If someone is wondering yes, I read the start guide and the 3 communities I have created didn't exist before, well one already exists but it has been inactive for 2 years, so I decided to go ahead anyway!

I was banned from 196. Fine. I'd like to block the community from my feed. The button is replaced by the notice that I've been banned.

Is there some kind of rate limiting trick to mod report federation and LW? I have HackingNe.ws, but it seems like only reports generated from LW do not federate, not sure how to make the two instances like each other - comments/posts seem to federate properly.

I thought I couldn't post to https://sh.itjust.works/ for days when I could before. I kept getting this error "Language not supported" and found that changing it from English to "Unsupported" makes the submission go through.

The sorting method does not have a description in the help page (the little question mark link)

There's an issue where trolls will "@" people who blocked them because it will still send a notification.

And no, I am not alt of anyone here, so I'm not just trying to inflate the numbers of the defense. The admins of lemm.ee can attest to this if they have my IP address, as admins in the days of old forums used to have (I would be really, really surprised if they didn't and couldn't provide it). Neither do I use a VPN. I am too poor for those. That hasn't, however, stopped me from being dragged into this mess for good by the peoples' infamous chancellor Davel, who it seems isn't new to doxxing either (though the random lying is new, if that is to be believed), or LGBT-phobia, which I would like to expose because me and the subject previously discussed the suicide of someone else who recently was dragged into this mess, all because people didn't like that they, too, were defending (which they expressed with empathy towards his transphobic boyfriend), so as long as everyone wants to expose LGBT-phobes.

I've played some games for which I want to make comms, but I'd rather make them on a gaming-related instance like Lemmy.zip rather than my registered one. Is this possible or would I need to make and manage a second account on the target instance?

I have noticed some very odd behavior in !comicstrips@lemmy.world. I saw by chance that a user no longer existed shortly after making a handful of posts on !comicstrips@lemmy.world. I made a comment about it and a user responded very rudely and accusatory, which raised a red flag. I clicked on that user's profile and, once again, that user seems to no longer exist. This struck me as very odd.

It seems like the moderator in this community has been inactive for almost a year now.

It seems like this community is unmoderated since 2 years. Unfortunately only admins are able to post, so this community is condemned to death. I would like to bring this community back to life (If it ever lived).
