First, I applaud the correct use of the term “conservative,” which properly understood refers to a particular view on the the role of institutionalized authority and the distinctions between those who wield it and those who are subject to it - not a particular position on the left-to-right spectrum.
And second - yes. Conservatism is lies built on lies, all the way down to a foundation of lies. It’s not rooted in logic or reason, but in lust and insecurity and greed and fear and misdirected anger, and it’s defended and justified by whatever rhetoric might serve at the moment.
Still though, I just can’t resist throwing logic at them…

They should at least make up their minds whether brutal repression is an actually good thing or a propaganda fiction created by the CIA.

Claims are not evaluated, in the conservative worldview. They are only how you perform loyalty.
