Because people are stupid.

I remember when at show at “50” had to have been on the air for 50 years. How many seasons a year does Survivor have?

1 the first year, 3 the second, and 2 every year since then.

Oh that makes me less confused lol.

The original host hasn’t retired or died yet.

Would you call him… A survivor?

This show is not 50 years old? First air in 2001.

I have barely seen the show. I remember the hubub about the guy going around naked. Im not sure I have seen enough episodes to equal one season. Who is watching this? Ugh I remember at work how cable was like all reality shows. Isn’t this all just do to being utra cheap to make?

do

Due

In the race to the bottom that IS ‘reality’ television, the survivor and amazing race ones are the least faux-drama cringey, and especially the race one is really more of a game show except you know they’re spinning it a bit. The survivor one is also a game show, just playing with people’s emotions out there a bit more.

I can see why they persist, even if I wish they wouldn’t. If they were the last to go once we all get tired of it, I’d also expect that.

there are actually a few I liked a bit due to subject matter buthonestly survivor feels like the most cringey in a way. Even the best do (I think its right this time) like the faux-drama though. Its so unnecessary to.
