Hey everyone, thank you again for participating, and for your submissions!

I'm glad to announce that the voting form is completed, and you can now cast your votes and select your favourite songs. Everyone is welcome to vote, even if your instance or community did not participate! This is a great opportunity to discover new music, cultures, and bridge the lemmyverse together.

I created a playlist so that you can easily listen to the submitted songs, it's available at the following links:

The form will be available until around the 8th of April, I will then collect the results and publish them shortly after. I hope you'll have a lot of fun listening to the 11 songs submitted for this edition. Don't hesitate if you have any question!

They're not, sorry! It's more like the Eurovision Song Contest where communities on Lemmy nominate an already established artist from their country, or language, or center of interest. Although there is no rule against a community on Lemmy nominating an artist from their ranks!

Not directly for Lemmy, but the song from feddit.org was at least created directly from the Fediverse, i.e. by Fediverse users to support a campaign started in the Fediverse.

god damn the recent comments under the brit punk song (Lambrini Girls - God's Country (Official Video)) are so vile...

but overall the lineup is really great, I have a hard time deciding for whom to vote.

Il faut un compte ou quelque chose ? Quand je clique sur le lien, j'arrive sur une page de présentation de Lemmyvision qui se finit par un bouton start. Quand je clique sur le bouton start, un nouvel onglet s'ouvre qui me présente la solution de production de formulaire et me propose de me connecter ou me faire un compte.
Je suis sur Firefox et Android. Je n'utilise que l'interface Web pour Lemmy.

Oula non, normalement le bouton start te fait accéder à la suite du formulaire, tu es sûr que tu ne cliques pas sur la banderole "created with tally" ?

C'était bien ça le problème. L'espace clickable du bandeau "created with Tally" recouvrait en partie le bouton. En cliquant juste au dessus du bouton, j'ai pu accéder au formulaire.

Dunno what you were talking about. i'm only guessing with pseudo comment. Yes the issue could be written in english to share the problem to everyone.

However on other hand, i think it's a good place to talk in other langage than english. That's almost the first time i read sentence like that. English there and there, and your language is almost inexistant on internet.

Maybe we should do more effort toward bilingual writting ? :)

This is an event posted on a francophone instance, you should expect to see some french being spoken by coming here. If anyone shows up with a question in a language - other than English - that I can speak, I will automatically assume it's easier for them that way and respond in their language if possible ; that has also been my approach in advertising this event.

Élitiste ? C'est un peu fort. J'ai simplement écrit en français à une personne à laquelle j'écris habituellement en français pour demander de l'aide et j'ai choisis de demander cette aide dans la langue dans laquelle je suis le plus à l'aise.
C'est vrai que ce n'est pas le plus pratique pour un public international et que c'est peut-être égocentrique ou égoïste tout au plus mais pas élististe à mon avis.

And yes, when I meet comments in language I don't mind copy-paste it in a translator. Maybe it's just me. It would be more pratical if they would all speak a language I understand but I don't feel like it is an issue. Translator today are very good at translating full sentences and conversation and I'm having mich harder time to navigate website in foreign language than understand conversation in foreign language.

Elitist a bit strong

Hmm you're right sorry, I don't know the specifics of e.g. your comment in this case, but it is frustrating when information is shared publicly, that might be of interest to someone, but the language used creates a larger barrier than needed 😕 And having a translator tab open in my browser just to translate every comment and post I read on the Internet one-by-one is not feasible. (I know e.g this is just one comment, but I'm talking about the bigger picture in general)

(In any case, thank you everyone for engaging in the discussion I started! I didn't expect so many answers 😅)
