Again, the Taliban wasn’t formed until the 1990s, when US aid was no longer being sent, and recruited overwhelmingly from young Pakistani Pashtuns without prior ties to Afghan conflicts.
So in any event, Al-Qaeda was still funded by the US
Indirectly and in small amounts, sure, but that isn’t really relevant to what the meme is saying since Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are entirely different groups.
