Because anyone actually watched it, or because nobody has any better ideas? I tried, and it struck me as built by a committee of boomers/Gen x imagining what life as Gen Z is like.

I watched it and enjoyed it, but I am surprised it was renewed. Like you said, there is a level of inauthenticity to it that makes it not quite as good as it could be.

Of course sometimes the first season of the show is the most rough version. Hopefully season 2 is an improvement, but if it’s just more of the same then it’s probably over.
