What’s with the pants, though?

Sheepskin chaps, fairly common for cowboys of the period. Herding cattle often involves being out in the elements, and keeping your legs warm becomes a high priority after a few cold nights out on the prairie.

Sheepskin chaps? Wow! I live in Basque country of US, I’m gonna have to ask some questions of some folks. I’ve only seen and used leather, but I’m not a working herder, either. This is an incredible picture for many reasons, I wonder how many black cowboys worked here then.

It was actually very common for cowboys out west to be Black! Many Black Americans moved out west after the US Civil War, hoping to escape prejudice in established white-majority regions back east.

Such an important part of American history that isn’t part of the curriculum.

Cool, thanks! I’ve got come looking and investigating to do at the saddle maker in town who has a museum.

They look a lot more comfortable than contemporary jeans, that’s for sure.

Probably a little smellier

They aren’t wearing pants.

Mase and T.I. looking snazzy.

Oh wow. I didn’t expect them to literally be cow-boys. Look at those legs! Rawr!

Been covered before. That’s Little Nas X’s ancestor on the left, or him time-traveling.

Buffalo Soldiers.

Dreadlock Rastas

Ay Yo Yo!

Those two are fucking!

No, they’re just really good friends.
