I remember working with someone contracting for DoD who had to rebuild Apache because he wasn't allowed to use open source libraries for security reasons 😂 your tax dollars at work

That doesn't make sense. The NSA published an excellent guide to secure hardening of RHEL that was like a Bible for all the security teams back in the day

DoD probably just had some dummies back then that eventually got replaced

TAILS is probably better than this ever was.

Its functionally pretty close to a thin client OS? You could probably roll your own with a little bit of effort

It was kinda bad.

It's a lot better now, but getting to military web sites, especially OWA, has always been a pain in the ass on personal computers. I tried this out trying to avoid using my main computer for work stuff and it just didn't work that well.

I don't think anyone was really using it that much which is probably why it isn't maintained.
