In order to use any service provided by Meta one has to already have their head in the sand and pants around their ankles.
Asking for mindfulness in the face of the latest "moral dilemma" posed by Meta is simply not something the user base seems capable of.
I hate to say it and sound like I'm defending them, but here we go.
As a gigging musician in the Philippines, Meta apps like Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger are some of the most important social media platforms to promote my work and to connect to potential clients.
I hate Meta and I hate that I have no choice on the Meta AI shit they've rolled out. But worse of all, I hate that I have no choice but to use Meta for my livelihood. There's just no alternative.
Fair point.
how did gigging musicians musically gig before social media?
They got gigs by connections! Same is still true today. Personal connections get you the gig.
But in the before times, no one had social media. Nowadays everyone has it and is almost a necessity for a musician to get their voice and music out there. You're losing out if you don't have a "portfolio" through your socmed accounts.

Not really, everyone who uses generative AI is either aware and doesn't care or doesn't care to be aware.
you just lumped literally every single person in together
not really on topic, but it's uncanny how quickly that article loaded for me.
That's what happens when you care about web performance
Seriously
goddamn that actually was pretty fast
Thereβs no moral dilemma. Itβs just pure moral compromise.
So does openai whats ur point?
Meta, a US company, allows the US military to use its models. Omg! Let me clutch my pearls.
What's the moral dilemma? China already took their model and is using it in *their* military.
Do you guys not want our military to have access to all of the possible tools they can?
You mad about Ford and GM building trucks and vehicles parts for the military too? Are you mad about Microsoft selling windows to the govt?
You just upset that it's the military?
Where's this line that's been drawn where this is a moral dilemma??
What happened with China bad, US good? Can we now both agree that both countries suck?
If China is bad, and the US is good, then why wouldn't we want our military to have access to the same (or better) tooling than they have access to.
I'm so morally dilemma'd here
the first sentence was a question numbnuts stop foaming at the mouth and reread it. then delete your account
I want everyone in our military to be dead
